Responsibilities:

The unique responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to the essential functions listed as follows:
• Serve as the primary liaison between Sunrise and the Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) provider, ensuring clear communication, efficient issue resolution and alignment with organizational billing standards
• Review and evaluate BPO deliverables, including ServiceNow tickets, to maintain high standards of service quality and identify opportunities for improvement
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of BPO activities, ensuring adherence to established billing protocols and accuracy in execution
• Manage payment discrepancy resolution by handling check issues, reissues and escheatment, collaborating with finance and other corporate departments as needed
• Execute key month-end closing activities for assigned communities, including managing the A/R subsystem and executing journal entries & reconciliations, to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Maintain training materials on billing processes for BPO teams and community stakeholders, drawing on subject matter expertise to provide recommendations for updates as needed
• Support onboarding and divestiture billing activities, ensuring seamless transitions and compliance with company procedures
• Assist with special billing projects, contributing analytical support and process insights to drive operational efficiencies
• Maintain compliance in assigned required training and all training required by state/province or other regulating authorities as applicable to this role to ensure that Sunrise standards are always met
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Proven ability to manage billing cycles, resolve discrepancies and execute month-end closing activities with precision and adherence to financial standards
• Strong ability to work effectively with internal teams (e.g., finance, HR, IT) and external partners (e.g., BPO providers) to drive efficiency, resolve issues and ensure compliance
• String analytical skills with the ability to identify, investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, as well as optimize processes based on data-driven insights
• Ability to evaluate existing processes, recommend enhancements and ensure the accuracy and quality of deliverables, including work performed by BPO teams
• Ability to assist with the creation and delivery of training materials, communicate effectively and ensure that all stakeholders (internal and external) understand billing processes and best practices
Qualifications:

• Minimum of high school diploma; some college preferred
• At least five years of billing/accounts receivable experience
• Experience using computerized billing software preferred; software experience specific to the healthcare industry or residential living would be a plus (doctor office, long term care, leasing office, etc.)
• Ability to analyze various BPO service level reporting, perform quality assurance audit of BPO activities and deep dive on escalations
• Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise training, instructions and updates for BPO and community teams, as well as contribute to the creation and revision of billing-related training materials
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while effectively managing multiple tasks and responsibilities
• Proven ability to perform work functions remotely
• Ability to partner with internal and external teams in a professional and respectful manner in order to maximize the effectiveness of our department.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to use the basic functions of each package; knowledge of how to use macros, formulas, & pivot tables in Excel is preferred
